Experience the magic of Kenya’s coastal life in this exciting 3-days tour.

This package explores an Island made beautiful by the natural corals, a visit to turtle conservation and a rescue center, an experience in cultural immersion at Wasini and Shimoni towns plus a visit to the vibrant Diani markets.

Day 1

After your travel via air, sea, rail or water, our representative will pick you up from your port of arrival and transfer you to Safari Beach Hotel- a delightful place to wander. The Hotel has something for everyone, making it uniquely unforgettable. Relax, unwind and fall in love with all that the hotel has to offer.
After checking in, get ready immediately to explore the beauty of the Indian Ocean on a boat or on a local ngalawa. Cruise the waves to the coral island.  The island is part of the natural barrier reef along the Diani coastline. Sunbathe, stroll or swim as nature’s hospitality welcomes you to this little slice of paradise on the ocean. Relax until the tide turns and it’s time to head back to the beach. Cruise back to the Hotel for the rest of the evening.

Day 2

After breakfast, get ready to embark on a journey further south. A journey deep into culture and history.

Travel South to Shimoni and Wasini towns. The two neighbouring towns, split by a kilometer of water, are in the same vicinity but unique in their histories, nature and cultures.

Shimoni was a slave holding port in the 1750’s, with voluminous dark caves that served as cells for en route or newly fetched slaves from the neighbouring villages. Learn the history of this dark trade and enjoy the hospitality of the people who gave rise to the port.

Wasini is an Island in the middle of the sea, a beautiful home to generations that have lived on this isolated rock outcrop. Winding coral paths through the mangrove forests on the island lead you to the local village where the quiet rhythm of daily life is displayed in the simplicity and joy of the local inhabitants.  Explore the women’s projects which include a board walk built over a coral garden. Later, indulge in a sumptuous seafood lunch which features some local delicacies and a variety of sea food prepared according to the local recipes.  Enjoy a well-deserved nap after lunch before travelling back to Safari Beach Hotel for the evening.

Day 3

After breakfast we begin with a visit to Turtle Watch. This experience will awaken your desire to engage in conservation. Learn through videos and makeshift turtle habitats about the life and times of Turtles. They face the imminent danger of extinction and the Turtle Watch team is working around the clock to try to extend or reverse this. Engage and participate in different programmes and projects at the center.

Later in the day, visit the most vibrant markets in Diani. This is where colour meets culture. From woven kikois to hand-carved ornaments, fresh food products and multitudes of friendly Diani people; you can purchase all your souvenirs and memorable gifts from the market on this last day of your coastal trip.

After your visit to the markets, we will make sure you are in time for your journey back home or to the next destination. We will drop you at your travel port of departure.
